Wobbly Government
November 23
Alberta's Premier Jason Kenney's lack of leadership skills are now really showing up:
Right now he is sitting at home in social isolation from being in contact with a person diagnosed with COVID. That's OK. But he is also isolating himself as a leader by simply not communicating with us.
That in the midst of a rapid escalation in recorded COVID cases in Alberta to the point where we now have more active cases here than any other province in Canada.
Some history: The conservative factions in Alberta decided to unite following the political debacle in 2015 which resulted in an NDP government under Rachel Notley.
Seasoned federal politician Jason Kenney saw an opening for himself and got elected as the leader of a coalition of conservatives under the "United Conservative Party" flag.
Having won the April, 2019 election, he cobbled together a cabinet from a largely unknown group of elected party members and set about governing the province.
The lack of depth and experience in this group began to show, notably in the behavior of one cabinet minister, Tyler Shandro, a lawyer who believes in confrontation as a modus operandi in regards to dealings with Alberta's medical establishment.
And to top it off, we have sailed right into a world wide pandemic on a ship with a rookie crew and a skipper that has gone to bed and hopes for the best.
