Virus Mutations
Virus mutations are happening all the time, just as in other lifeforms.
A more virulent form would have a definite survival advantage over less virulent strain due to its ability to find new hosts.
The
virus is not interested in killing its host - that is just collateral
damage - its main purpose is to survive and replicate, not unlike
ourselves.
The trail of destruction it leaves behind could be likened to what we are doing to Mother Earth at this time
