Revolution Down South?
There
are those who expect big things to happen in the US on January 6,
coming up. Big marches are predicted by some.
Will that be
the beginning of a Trump revolution? Let’s look at events leading
up to the present.
Trump got into the White House on a wave of popular support from a broad range of people who had watched themselves being short changed by the two previous Obama administrations.
Prior to the election, Trump’s team saw the opportunity, grabbed it and and got the GOP (Good Old Party) brass to buy in for a chance to occupy the White House.
Trump
had the popular support that they needed, so they held their noses,
knowing that he was an unpredictable character.
Following
Trump’s election in 2016, Democrats got the shock of their lives
and looked everywhere for fault, except in the mirror.
And
ever since then they have done everything in their power to get Trump
unseated, grabbing at any straw presenting itself.
This
has led to the present situation where Trump considers the election
to be another power grab by his opponents, using vote rigging as a
tool.
OK, so now, Trump’s strength has always been his
popular support, which he has carefully cultivated throughout his
presidency, but what is his weakness?
His association with the GOP brass was based on mutual convenience from the outset, rather than “love” : )
Trump is essentially a one man band, expecting unwavering loyalty from supporters and making decisions that suit him on the fly.
This is his primary weakness: He does not have an underlying loyal and also organized power structure to support him when times get tough.
And
now he his trying to twist the arms of his GOP not-so-friendly
“buddies” in the Senate by voting with the Dems for $2000, rather
than $600 for needy Americans.
Seeing Trump as a looser,
the GOP brass will look for an opportunity to distance themselves
from him, and this could be it, at the expense of hungry
Americans.
In order to carry out a revolution, a whole
power structure needs to be in place, including financial resources.
Just having people in the street doesn’t cut it. Over time protests
fizzle out as people come to accept the status quo.
And
there are now signs of the Dems having learnt their lesson and are
prepared to use the power of the Federal Reserve to support the
people they had forgotten about before Trump came on the scene.
