Long Fight?

November 9

I carved a rock during the spring of this year as a reminder to the future. The rock itself came from a glacial deposit north of the Town of Peace River in Northern Alberta and was deposited there by a melting glacier some 12,000 years ago.
Now, however its looks like the virus is going to make a liar out of me: It's a smart cookie.
Based on transmission in various kinds of settings, fine droplet (aerosol) aerial transmission predominates over other kinds. And the numbers show that masks used in public spaces is a pretty good way of slowing down this critter.
But who wants to use masks when visiting with family and friends? Very few in my experience, and that includes me.
It doesn't seem right, somehow.
So, in spite of all the optimism over a vaccine, we might just have to wear this critter down, as we have done to cousins of COVID many times in the past.
It might be worth remembering that the virus has its own interests best served by keeping most of those affected alive, rather than dead.
